Christmas In Milano.

If I told you Christmas in Milan was exciting I would be lying to you! Although, I am literally in full-speed festive mode as soon as Halloween is over so I was bitterly disappointed when the first Christmas lights / decorations I saw was only one week before Christmas! However, when they took the time out of their laid-back lives to put some festive fun into these streets, I was impressedddd. Holy Moly was Naviglio Canal beautiful! Naviglio Grande is stunning any day of the week but when they decorated the surrounding buildings with hundreds of twinkling lights which bounced off the water I literally had to stand back, nodding my head gently in approval and say "I live here".

At this point I had been away from home for three months - which although it may sound pathetic - it is true - and i was pining for my family! For me Christmas is a time for spending every moment with your loved ones.. and presents.. and pigs in blankets... so to cure a little bit of homesickness we made a Christmas dinner in order to celebrate together before heading home and separating for two weeks! Turns out my friend Kayleigh makes a mean roast...

The next week I flew home, ate too many of my mothers meals, probably put on too much weight, had an amazing time with my family and friends before flying back to Milan to continue learning, travelling and enjyoing my year out!
